Artists Corner

An essential part of your visit, L’Allée des Artistes (The Artists Corner) is a pedestrian promenade where local talent is on display. Pem is an iconic figure of Le Caudan Waterfront who will share his passion for woodcarving with you. His open-air workshop is just a couple of steps away from an outlet offering a taste of “siro pike”.

Summing up the best of Mauritius, this pure sugarcane juice drink is extracted using a traditional, old-fashioned press. And if you feel like roaming around a veritable treasure chest of handicrafts, head for the Craft Market.

There you will find paintings, rattan baskets and handmade decorative items made by artisans with exceptional know-how. L’Allée des Artistes is also a rendezvous for musicians, dancers, acrobats and magicians who will provide you with a festive introduction to the folklore of the island.
